PV on rooftops
Building and operating floating PV plants on the water surface can be another great solution for areas with limited availability of suitable land. This solution offers not only the possibility to use renewable energy sources but also protection against excessive water evaporation. Studies are focused on efficiency, performance, reliability of supply, operational safety and financial return. Scientific data suggest that this technology could be deployed at sea level, paving the way to significant amounts of energy, particularly for island states. In addition, it could contribute to the protection of the environment and the water regime.
